Thank you for the great service provided. I’d be happy to leave a comment for each location and activity.
The car rental was great and affordable. The vehicle they provided was clean, newer, and well maintained. I think it was 100 times better than the service provided by Hertz.
The Amatique Bay Resort was wonderful as were the other hotels. The Good: nice rooms, beautiful location and scenery, great service, pools are kid friendly with the beach nearby. The Bad: Away from local services and town (approx. 25 minutes), only a small mini-mart with limited items available, the appliances (stove and refrigerator) were old and required some assistance to work properly, and no microwaves in the rooms. Laundry is charged by the piece.
Camino Real Tikal -The Good: nice rooms, beautiful location and scenery, great service, kayaking and sauna available as well as other activities, pools are kid friendly with the lake nearby. Fish and turtle feedings every morning as well. The Bad: Away from any local services and town (approximately 5 minutes) Hotel would not provide transportation or arrange one, no appliances (refrigerator or microwave). Laundry was also by the piece.
Atitlan I think was the best overall. The Good: nice rooms, beautiful location and scenery, great service, closer to town, transportation available, pools are kid friendly with the lake nearby. Walkthrough garden with live animals available to the guests. A lot of activities were available within walking distance. The Bad: no appliances (refrigerator or microwave). Laundry was also by the piece but could be done in town.
The activities were great as were the guides. Aguateca was a bit rough for the kids and would not recommend it to anyone else with children under 15.
Just keep in mind that these comments are made from a family with small children, and accommodations with refrigeration and microwaves, or being close to town are very important, as the Hotel food is very expensive.
Other than that, I think the trip was awesome. You provided us with great services at each location and it made our vacation very enjoyable. Thank You
